Director of Finance and Administration
Summary:
The Director of Finance and Administration leads financial and administrative functions by providing strategic financial leadership, overseeing budgeting and financial planning, ensuring efficient administrative operations including Human Resources and the Careers program, and contributes to the overall growth and success of the company. The Director of Finance and Administration plays a pivotal role in driving financial sustainability, operational excellence, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership:
• Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the organization's fiscal health and long-term sustainability.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to define financial objectives, set performance metrics, and monitor progress toward achieving financial goals.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to support informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Manage cash flow, investment strategies, and financial risk while optimizing the allocation of resources for maximum impact.
Administrative Leadership:
• Provide visionary leadership to the administrative team, overseeing functions such as vendor relations and office operations.
• Streamline administrative processes, enhance workflows, and implement best practices to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment of administrative efforts with organizational goals.
Budgeting and Planning:
• Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic budgets aligned with organizational goals.
• Monitor and track budget performance, identifying and addressing variances to ensure financial targets are met.
• Provide guidance on resource allocation to achieve optimal balance between operational needs and financial goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Provide mentorship and guidance to the finance and administrative teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify opportunities for professional growth and development.
• Build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Strategic Partnerships:
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with the organization's mission and vision.
• Engage with external partners, including financial institutions, regulatory authorities, and professional networks, to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
• Proven track record of 5+ years in senior-level roles overseeing administration and financial management.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Experience in strategic financial planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical thinker with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
